GALÉNIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

FROM 1 FEBRUARY TO 30 APRIL 2026

PRIZES & THEMES :

Galénic Cosmetics Laboratory has created the endowment fund (fonds de dotation) GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND for the purpose of awarding prizes in the form of an individual financial grant of 20,000 euros each. Each prize is intended to reward a research or innovation project demonstrating a significant scientific advance. Six prizes are planned, divided into 2 categories covering the themes below:

4 Research Prizes in dermatology:

a. Skin physiology, and in particular the skin barrier function

b. Functional pharmacology of the skin and new avenues for developing active ingredients and ingredients

c. Characterization of new biological and biotechnological active ingredients (excluding medicinal products)

d. Research on the biological pathways of longevity in the different layers of the skin

e. Skin wound-healing mechanisms

2 Research Prizes in cell biology applied to cosmetics:

a. The biological mechanisms of the skin / cellular permeability and cell/tissue targeting, or how to improve the bioavailability of ingredients and active ingredients in the skin

b. The role of cellular communication and signaling in cell longevity

c. Research on the exposome (environment, pollution, stress, etc.) and on all the external factors that accelerate premature skin aging

d. Interaction between the endogenous and exogenous factors of premature skin aging

e. Stem cells and cellular regeneration in skin rejuvenation.

APPLICATIONS:

Applications for these prizes will be open to researchers and physician-researchers who are beginning a new research theme carried out in France within the aforementioned themes, or who already have a research program but which requires new funding to carry out their research project. These prizes are intended to reward individual work or team work.

Former winners and applicants may submit an application.

Student researchers may not submit an application.

REGISTRATION :

The application file must be written in French and in English, in PDF form, and sent by email to the address fonds-de-dotation@galenic.com or submitted online at www.galenic.com until 30 April 2026 at midnight. Applications received after this date will be returned to their authors without being examined.

The application file must contain: the project summary, the detailed presentation of the project (objectives, materials & methods, expected results), the financial plan detailed by milestone, the schedule detailed by month (1 year of research), the presentation of the team where applicable, and the list of previous publications if any. Applications that do not meet the defined criteria will not be retained.

Galénic and the endowment fund (fonds de dotation) GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND undertake the obligation of confidentiality of the projects sent to them.

Galénic and the endowment fund GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND undertake to process the personal data collected in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD / GDPR – EU Regulation 2016/679). AWARD & PROCLAMATION :

The projects sent by the applicants will be evaluated by the members of the Scientific Committee of the GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND according to:

1) Their originality, relevance and scientific interest.

2) Their feasibility in line with the schedule, the amount of the prize and the team's capacity to carry out the project.

3) Their methodology in line with the objective defined by the said project.

Each member of the jury will individually and freely evaluate the files using a predefined scoring grid in order to award an overall score out of 100. The average of the different scores awarded by each jury member will determine a final ranking, which will be communicated by the Scientific Committee to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors will freely decide on the award of the prizes in view of the elements communicated by the Scientific Committee and any other element of assessment that it deems appropriate to retain.

The awards will be proclaimed by the endowment fund GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND, at the latest 3 months after the close of registration, and will be the subject of the regulatory and legal declarations and formalities.

COMMITMENT & OBLIGATIONS OF THE WINNERS AND THEIR TEAM:

  1. From the submission of an application file and until the decision taken by the endowment fund (whether a rejection decision or a favorable decision), the applicant refrains from any use of the name, designation, brand, logo or any element identifying the GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND, except with the prior written agreement of the latter.
  1. Any publication — written, oral or displayed — made from a project funded under this call for applications must bear a mention of the support of the GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND and must be sent for validation to the GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND (fonds-de-dotation@galenic.com).
  1. Once designated, the winners will be asked to provide a 10-to-15-line summary of their project in "general public" language and a photo of their team, if possible in a laboratory setting.
  1. The winners will be required to be present at at least two of the following events after the awarding of the prize:
    • At the proclamation ceremony during the annual Gala, during which they must present their project. A presentation template will be provided by the GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND.
    • At the following year's Gala, to present the results of their work.
  1. The winners and their team will also be required to respond to requests from the endowment fund and the Galénic brand in order to support communication around their research project, during video-portrait/photo/interview sessions, on any communication medium or media. The content will make it possible to present the projects following the proclamation, during the research, and at the end of the project. The GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND and the Galénic brand reserve the right to use this content in all forms of media: press, social networks, websites, media, events, in France and throughout the world.
  1. The winners give their consent to assign their image rights (droit à l'image) within the framework of the events organized and the content produced by the endowment fund and the Galénic brand, for a duration of 15 years, as specified in the Rules of participation in the CALL FOR PROJECTS OF THE GALENIC DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH FUND.

The winners undertake to complete all declaratory formalities that may personally fall to them due to the award of the Prize.
